Leaf announces it uses 56MP 56x36mm CCD from DALSA in its new medium format camera back. The sensor is based on 6um pixels, has 1fps speed and supports ISO 50-800 sensitivity.

Yahoo : Kodak image sensors are on board of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO)launched almost 3 years ago on August 12, 2005. Daily weather data for Mars is collected by the orbiter using the Mars Color Imager (MARCI) based on 1MP KAI-1001 sensor. The orbiters Context Camera (CTX) is based on KLI-5001, a 5,000-pixel linear CCD device that scans the surface of the planet as the orbiter passes overhead.

Michael Priest took this image with a Nikon D2Xs with an exposure of 1 sec at f/8, ISO 100. A lot of thought and planning went into this image. Using trial and error and timing of the drops Michael was able to improve his keeper rate. He used multiple flashes with gels to bring out different colors in the water. I really like this shot, Its different and well thought out. With all of the thought put into this, go the extra step to minimize the specular highlights reflected in the front section of the splash. The other tips of the splash have wonderful reflective color. Overall this is a wonderful photo. read more »
